Professional services
Consultancy, Supervision & Training
Alongside psychological therapy, TC Psychology provides specialist consultancy, supervision and training to practitioners and organisations working within the criminal justice field.
These services are delivered by Dr Theresa Comer, a clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience across NHS and independent practice, including work within the probation service, prisons, forensic mental health and forensic learning disability settings.

Experience & expertise
Dr Comer’s experience spans training, supervision, consultation, psychological formulation, risk assessment and therapy with people who have committed a range of offences, including perpetrators of high-risk domestic abuse and individuals with personality disorder diagnoses and mental health difficulties. She has extensive experience working with complexity, including people who find it difficult to engage with services and those whose presentations or behaviour can evoke strong emotional responses in practitioners. Through TC Psychology, she supports practitioners and organisations to understand these dynamics and use psychological thinking to inform engagement, risk management and intervention.
Supervision
TC Psychology offers both individual and group clinical supervision to practitioners working within criminal justice settings. Dr Comer’s experience includes supervising probation staff, psychologists, trainee psychologists and practitioners delivering perpetrator interventions.
Supervision at TC Psychology provides a reflective and collaborative space to explore complex cases, develop psychological formulations and consider the relational and emotional demands of the work.
Consultancy & Training
TC Psychology provides consultancy to criminal justice organisations, including supporting the development of interventions and training packages. Dr Comer’s work has included contributing to the development of domestic abuse perpetrator programmes and facilitating formulation meetings for teams working with complex and high-risk service users.
TC Psychology also develops and delivers training on areas including trauma, personality disorder, attachment, suicide awareness and interpersonal dynamics. The approach draws on psychological theory, research and practical experience to help organisations translate psychological understanding into effective practice.
